WE'RE THE GOULDINGS
We travel as a family, as a couple, and with a lot of curiosity.
We are Jordan and Chelsea Goulding. Some trips include all six of us; others are time away as a couple. We use points and miles when they create real value, pay cash when that is the better answer, and choose the destination after we understand what the trip can realistically cost.
This site is where we keep the version we would want from a friend: the route, the room, the meals, what needed a reservation, what worked with children, what did not, and what we would change next time.
WHAT WE LOVE
History, food, neighborhoods, and enough room to notice where we are.
We like a strong anchor for the day and freedom around it. That might mean a museum in the morning, a neighborhood lunch, an open church, a shop we did not know existed, or a rest that saves the evening.
Our best trips are not the ones where we complete the longest list. They are the ones where the family is still talking about a meal, a view, a strange local story, or the figure someone finally won from a crane machine.
How we plan
Let the useful points value open the conversation
Compare the total cash trip, not only the flight
Choose fewer home bases
Book the bottlenecks, then leave room
Write down the honest tradeoffs after the trip
Responsible points note: We treat credit-card rewards as a tool, not free money. Interest erases points value quickly, so paying in full and staying inside a normal budget comes first.
WHERE WE HAVE BEEN
The guides begin with trips we can speak about honestly.
Our current destination notes cover Italy, Japan, Belgium, France, Shanghai, London, Scotland, Washington, D.C., Boston and coastal New England. Portugal remains clearly labeled as a planning framework until the first-person record is complete.
WHY WE PUBLISH
Travel advice is more useful when the tradeoffs are visible.
A beautiful photograph does not tell you that the station was confusing, the restaurant required every person to order, the crowd changed the day, or an afternoon rest protected the evening. Those details are often the difference between inspiration and a plan a real family can use.
We publish the good parts and the friction together. The goal is not to prove that our route was perfect. It is to help another family or couple make a clearer decision.
